Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the robots.txt Generator at robots.snapstatic.io ("the Service") handles your data. The Service is operated by SnapStatic.
1. Data We Collect
This tool runs entirely in your browser. The rules, sitemap URLs, and settings you enter are never sent to or stored by our servers. No processing happens server-side; everything stays on your device.
Infrastructure and analytics:
- Cloudflare — provides static hosting and edge delivery for this Service. Cloudflare may set a functional or security cookie and collects standard edge analytics (page views, country, browser type) as part of its CDN service. This data is aggregated and not personally identifiable. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details.
- Umami analytics — we use a self-hosted instance of Umami to collect anonymous, aggregate usage data (page views, country, browser type). Umami sets no cookies, performs no cross-site tracking, and does not identify you personally.
Data we do NOT collect:
- No accounts, email addresses, or names
- No payment information (this Service is entirely free)
- No uploaded files — your robots.txt rules are generated locally and never leave your browser
- No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies
- No third-party analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no tracking pixels)
2. Local Storage
The Service stores the following in your browser's localStorage:
ss_upsell_dismissed— remembers that you dismissed the "try SnapStatic" prompt so it is not shown again.
No tracking cookies are set by the Service itself. You can clear localStorage at any time through your browser settings.
3. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access — request what data we hold about you
- Deletion — request deletion of any data associated with you
- Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Portability — request your data in a portable format
- Object — object to data processing
- Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority
Since this Service collects essentially no personal data and requires no account, most of these rights are satisfied by design. For any requests, contact contact@snapstatic.io.
4. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you believe a child has used the Service in a way that concerns you, contact us.
5. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy by posting the revised version on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be noted at the top of the page.
